Interim Transition Note-January 2019

After the departure of our Nursery Director, Ashley, and in consideration of the Nursery’s limited regular use, in 2019 CGS will only be staffing the Nursery for Christmas, Easter and Annual Meeting childcare needs. We celebrate the presence of our youngest members in worship and the Nursery continues to be available (though un-staffed) if you and your child need a place to get away for a few minutes. We will be convening conversations about a way forward for this ministry over the coming year and if you are interested in participating, please contact the clergy.

Children are our special responsibility entrusted to our care by God. It is the mission of our Nursery here at Good Shepherd to provide a place where young children are loved, nurtured, and cared for. In our Nursery, children have their first introduction to their church home. Here they learn what Jesus taught the children: God loves you!  To see our current Education Brochure, click here.

Families with infants and young children (under 3 years old) are welcome to utilize our Nursery during worship services supervised by a parent. The Nursery is equipped with a variety of toys and activities. Changing table and cribs are available for infants. Children turning three enter the Sunday School program if their birthdays fall before the 30th of September and are potty trained. If the birthday is after this date or if your child is not potty trained, we ask that you wait for the next year for your child to begin Sunday School.

The Nursery is located on the second floor and is open for parental/guardian supervised use on Sunday mornings from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.
